Obituary for Ann Early

Ann (nee Salzman) Early, 87, of Terrace Park, Ohio died on November 29, 2017 after a long illness that, despite its difficulties, did not rob her of her dry sense of humor. A life-long resident of the Cincinnati area, Ann graduated from Milford High School in 1948, earned a BA in English from Indiana University in 1952, and worked briefly for Delta Airlines downtown Cincinnati office in the former Gibson Hotel.
Over the course of her life Ann pursued her passions: oil painting, astrology, gardening, writing and finally Scotland, which she visited many times. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Cincinnati Nature Center in Milford, could identify a long list of bird calls and provided a home to her many beloved pets such as Biff, Twiggy, Jelly and Bobby. She and her husband, David Early, lived at the Early Farm on Buckwheat Road in Milford for 20 years, what is now the public Community Park in Miami Township.
She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, as she was by her parents, George and Margaret Salzman. She is survived by her sister Joan Thomas, sister-in-law Tat Early, and many nieces and nephews: Amy Sutherland, Kate Law, Andy Killinger, Todd Killinger, Ellen Johnson, Steve Early, Dave Hardesty and Lollie Turner.
A visitation will be held this Sunday, Dec. 10, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home in Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital.
