Beloved wife of James for 52 years, adored mother of Kim Vollet, Karen, Kristen, the late Matthew, and David (Shon) Meere, most loving grandmother to Joshua (Mylinda) Vollet, Bryce, Shayna, and Jorja Meere, dear sister to Lois Fowler, loving aunt to Linda (Sean) Mullucey, Bonnie (George) Barnette, Steven (Irene) Fowler, Joan Murphy, Nancy Spiridis, Leslie Flynn, Gayle Scanlon, Paul Sewell, the late Mark Sewell and John Meere Jr. Loving sister-in-law to Elva (Meere) Sewell and Nikki Meere. Dear friend to Lillian (Bubie) Butchkes and many, many others. Shirleys kind, compassionate, and loyal ways drew others to her. She truly enjoyed her lengthy career with the Milford Exempted School District. Shirley cherished the relationships formed during those years, and maintained many close friendships following her retirement. Shirley valued animals as well, loving and caring for numerous pets throughout her life. She particularly enjoyed nurturing puppies, as the family raised and showed cocker spaniels for many years. Shirley was, indeed, incredibly special and loved, and will be forever in our hearts. A memorial service for all friends and family will be held at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, 529 Main St, Milford, 11:30 AM, Thursday, July 19, 2007 with a gathering beginning at 10:30 AM, also at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home. Private interment at Spring Grove Cemetery for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the following charities which Shirley faithfully supported; Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, 45263-3597 or the League for Animal Welfare, 4193 Taylor Rd, Batavia, 45103.
