Obituary for Pauline C. Frank

FRANK, Pauline Calendine, wife of Warren Settle Frank, passed away in her sleep Sunday, August 25th in Monroe, Ohio. Pauline was the daughter of Harley and Margret Calendine. She was born in Zanesville, Ohio and later moved to Parkersburg with her parents. After graduating from Parkersburg Senior High School, she completed a degree in business from Mountain State Business College and worked for the Human Resource Director at Libby-Owens Vitrolite (Johns-Manville). During her time in college she became a member of the Alpha Iota Business Sorority, developing many personal and professional friends and enjoyed a lifelong involvement with the organization. Pauline attended the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg where she taught fourth grade Sunday school and was an active member of The Lutheran Church Women group. She was a past president of the Centennial Chapter of the Daughters of American Pioneers, a charter member of The Robert Ellyson Chapter of the National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century and a member of The Society of Charlemagne. Pauline is survived by her husband Settle (son of Warren E and Carol Frank of Court Street, Luray) and her three sons, Warren R. Frank (wife Sonya) residing in Milford, OH, Thomas C. Frank (wife Katherine) residing in Tomball, TX and Joseph A. Frank (wife Melanie) residing in Middletown, MD, her sister Josephine Sillman residing in Williamstown, WV and her brother Richard Calendine residing in Vero Beach, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sara C. Frank, Thomas Frank II, Elizabeth Frank, Ashley Frank, Mason Frank and great-grandchildren Sophia Frank and Isabelle Frank. Pauline was preceded in death by her brother Calvin Calendine and her first grandson, Capt. Warren Andrew Frank, USMC, killed in action on November 25, 2008 during his third tour in Iraq. Pauline and her husband celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2013. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Pauline are requested to consider donations to the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, the Wounded Warrior Project, or Mount Pleasant Life Care of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services. An 11:00AM memorial service for Pauline will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, WV on September 14, 2013. Friends and family are welcome to arrive at the church prior to the service to meet with the family beginning at 10:00AM.
