Obituary for Helen Barnett

Helen Christopher Barnett, life long resident of Terrace Park, Ohio died May 8, 2013. at the Alois Alzheimer Center in Greenhills, Ohio. She was born December 16, 1916 at 215 Oxford Avenue in Terrace Park to Raymond and Pearl Breiling Christopher. Her great grandparents, the Bacons along with the Breilings and many other family members were very early residents of Terrace Park in the l800s. She graduated from The Terrace Park High School in l933 and graduated from Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio in l937 with a bachelor of arts degree. Her careers included briefly working for the State Department in the Dominican Republic and later employment at Multi-fold Corporation and the Law Office of Flack Douglas in Milford, Ohio. She was the wife of the late Lowell Barnett, a long time resident of Terrace Park. She is survived by her nephews, Todd J. Christopher and Steven B. Christopher; step daughter, Caroline Haverstick, step son William L Barnett, Jr., and was preceded in death by her step daughter, Ruth Grossman. She was a charter member of the Terrace Park Historical Society, a member of the founding board of the Thomaston Woods Corporation in Amelia, Ohio; a former Vestry member of St Thomas Episcopal Church, and an active participant and supporter of the Fine Arts in Cincinnati for over forty years. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on May 23rd at St Thomas Church, 100 Miami Avenue, Terrace Park. Burial will be in the St Thomas Columbarium. A reception for friends and family will be held following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Ministry of Healing at St Thomas or to the Episcopal Healing Ministries at 318 E Fourth St, Christ Church Cathedral, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202.
