Obituary for George Baker Gundlach

GUNDLACH, George Baker, resident of Mariemont and Lakeside, Ohio. Born in Tiffin, Ohio on February 18, 1920, son of the late George Parker Gundlach and Florence Baker. Beloved husband of 64 years to Orel Gundlach (nee: Ruth) loving father of Chris Cheatham (Jack) and the late Samuel Gundlach. Affectionate grandfather of Andrew Baker Cheatham, Lauren Gundlach Besecker and Robert Gundlach and great grandfather of five. Monday March 10, 2008 at the age of 88. George was a graduate of Duke University, a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and served during WWII. He was CEO and President of the G P Gundlach & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. George was an avid sailor, ran charter fishing boats and captained boats from the great lakes to ports along the eastern seaboard and Florida. He also supported many activities for the Lakeside, Ohio community. An avid gardener and golfer he was a long time member of the Terrace Park Country Club and the Catawba Island Club. Memorial services 1PM Wednesday March 19th at the Seasons Retirement Community at 7300 Dearwester Rd, Montgomery. George�s ashes will be buried at sea later this year at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorial contributions to a charity of one�s choice.
