Francis Anthony Kulhavik (Frank), 81, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2021. He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, the eldest child of Rosemary and Julius Kulhavik. Frank graduated from Sacred Heart High School, then attended Concord College in West Virginia, where he met his wife of 56 years, Nancy. They were married in 1964 and moved to Cincinnati. Frank and Nancy raised their family in Madisonville, where they formed many lasting friendships. A devout Catholic, Frank was very active in his parish and was a teacher for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati his entire career. Frank was a mentor and role model to many. He taught at St. Anthony in Madisonville, before continuing on to St Cecilia in Oakley then Purcell Marian High School until he retired. Frank also coached basketball, cross country, and little league baseball. In the summers he worked for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, managing several pools and recreation centers throughout the city. He taught countless numbers of kids how to swim and gave them a safe place to spend their summers. He was sent a letter of commendation from President Ronald Regan in 1981 for saving a child’s life from drowning. In 1996, Frank and Nancy moved to Navarre, Florida where they welcomed family and friends, for twenty plus years, to their little piece of “paradise.” They moved back to Cincinnati in 2018 to be close to family. Frank enjoyed coaching and watching sports, spending days at the beach, animals, and a good meal. He had a passion for many genres of music, his favorite being Frank Sinatra. Most of all, Frank, was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Frank is survived by his wife Nancy (Sironko); children, Christopher (Valerie) Kulhavik, Amy (Lance) Stetter, Phillip (Amy) Kulhavik; and grandchildren, Natalie Rose Stetter and Nicholas Andrew Stetter. Frank is also survived by his sisters Mary Ann Kulhavik and Judy Sanford.
